Supporting Attendance: Tools and Strategies for Leaders

Supporting employee attendance is an important part of creating a healthy, engaged, and productive workplace. This workshop provides leaders with an overview of HHS’ approach to attendance management, including the factors that influence attendance, strategies to support employee well-being, and practical approaches for addressing attendance concerns. Participants will also learn how to use attendance dashboard, identify trends and develop proactive departmental plans to address individual employee issues.

Who is this course for?

This course is open to HHS staff who lead Clinical and Non-Clinical Healthcare Teams.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this course, you will:

  • Explain the key principles of attendance management and the factors that influence attendance.
  • Apply HHS’s approach to managing different types of absences
  • Use the Attendance Dashboard to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making
  • Develop strategies to promote attendance and support team engagement
  • Confidently address attendance concerns through supportive, constructive conversations
  • Recognize the value of acknowledging positive attendance behaviours
