LEADING IN A UNIONIZED ENVIRONMENT: EMPLOYEE & LABOUR RELATIONS
Leading a unionized team comes with unique opportunities and responsibilities. This session provides an introduction to Employee and Labour Relations at HHS, helping leaders build confidence in navigating collective agreements, working effectively with our union partners, and responding to common employee and labour relations situations. Participants will also become familiar with the tools, resources, and supports available to help them succeed in their role with unionized staff.
Who is this course for?
This course is open to HHS staff who lead Clinical and Non-Clinical Healthcare Teams with unionized staff.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course, you will:
- Navigate collective agreements with greater confidence
- Understand the steps to the grievance and arbitration process, as well as the leaders role in each process
- Recognize the roles of HHS’ union partners and develop a stronger understanding of our unionized workforce
- Access key HR resources, including collective agreements, process guides, contacts, and other tools to support day-to-day leadership
