CQI#4: Standard Work

As you engage in improvement work there is opportunity to standardize both processes and roles within your team. This course highlights the value of standardization to reduce variation and remove Waste in your work. You can achieve this by using the CQI Standard Work tool to document the “best known” way to complete a task or role. It becomes the “new way” of completing a task or role and teams work together to sustain this change, looking for opportunities for further improvement.

This course builds on previous sessions that discuss CQI tools and behaviours.

Who is this course for?

This course is open to Staff and physicians within CQI areas. This course builds on previous sessions that discuss CQI tools and behaviours.

After this course you will be able to:

• Describe the value of Standard Work & Process Observation
• Begin to create and use Standard Work
• Use Process Observation to sustain changes
