Where can I learn about courses offered through the Hamilton Health Sciences Centre for People Development?

Who may register for courses?
Courses are open to Hamilton Health Sciences Staff and Physicians. Specific target audiences are identified in the course overview for each learning event. Individuals from outside of Hamilton Health Sciences are welcome to register for programs, unless otherwise noted in the program information.
What if a course offering is full?
If a learning event is full, you will be invited to add your name to the waiting list for that event. In many cases, learning events are repeated throughout the year. Register early to avoid disappointment.
I registered for a course and can no longer attend. Can I withdraw and get a refund?
Withdrawals are permitted up to 14 days before the first day of each course. Requests for refunds must be emailed to email@example.com
Withdrawals after that date will be assessed a withdrawal fee as follows:
- Courses under $100 - $25 cancellation fee
- Courses over $100 - 25% of the course cost
In order to avoid cancellation fees, registrants are encouraged to transfer their registration to another person. To make arrangements, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
I registered for a course and can no longer attend. Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
To transfer your registration to another person, email your name, the name of the course and the name of the individual taking your place to email@example.com before the first day of the course. Those transferring their course registration are responsible for any transfer of funds associated with this change.
How will I know if a Centre for People Development course offering has been cancelled, e.g., as a result of inclement weather?
Hamilton Health Sciences reserves the right to cancel learning events. Registrants will be notified at the earliest possible date in the event of a cancellation.
In the event that weather conditions result in the cancellation of a learning event, this information will be communicated. Watch CHCH TV news for news about all weather related cancellations.
Participants will also be notified of course cancellations by email.
Course registration fees for events cancelled by Hamilton Health Sciences will be refunded, however Hamilton Health Sciences is not liable for any loss, damages or other expenses that such cancellations may cause.
When is payment due?
Course payment is due at the time of registration. Questions regarding payment can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Is funding available for me to participate in learning events?
Funding may be available.
Professional organizations may offer funding for continuing education. Consult your professional organization for details.
Funding for Allied Health Professionals is available through the Allied Health Professional Development Fund (AHPDF). Click HERE for details.
Funding may be available for staff of Hamilton Health Sciences. Information regarding education funding is available by visiting the Education Intranet Site from the HHS Intranet Home Page.

Will a meal be provided?
Prior to the start of each course, you will receive key information about the course, including details about meals.
What should I wear?
Unless otherwise noted in the course information, business casual attire is appropriate.
Continuing Education Credits
Will I receive continuing education credits for attending?
Many of our courses have been approved for credits for maintenance of certification with professional bodies. This will be noted in course overviews.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, you will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of every course you complete, along with a certificate indicating the number of hours of learning completed.
How can I share my feedback, ideas and suggestions about the Centre for People Development?
All learners will be invited to provide feedback on the courses they attend. In addition, we encourage your ideas and suggestions about the Centre for People Development at any time. Feedback can be shared by emailing email@example.com
