Pause, Reset, Nourish, PRN – January 2021

PRN is a resilience integration framework that is being rolled out throughout HHS that encourages staff, leaders, and physicians to weave resilience practices throughout the flow of their work.

Health care has become increasingly complex and is in continuous flux.  The numerous and competing demands require resilience.  Resilience is not solely about a set of tools, strategies, or guidelines that are an add on to our workday but an embodied practice.  This program provides formal leaders with a time to pause to acknowledge their own experiences through challenging times, to reflect on the impact of the demands in health care on their teams and relationships, and to explore ways to reset and nourish themselves and others as we continue to adapt to our evolving social, organizational and epidemiological context.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Reflect on our unique experiences as leaders as we navigate complexity and flux
  • Recognize that leadership is “an inside job” that arises from our personal traits and values, rather than from a particular set of tactics
  • Hear and learn from the experiences and perspectives of our peers, honoring the complexity and diversity of these experiences, in a confidential, safe space
  • Try out a variety of practices intended to deepen reflection, promote connection, invite reconciliation…these are experiential practices we can also bring to our teams and colleagues
  • Be together as a community to spark creative responses, have fun, think a little differently and perhaps even inspire inner transformation

Special Course Considerations:

We strongly encourage you to take the opportunity to meet with a leadership coach during the course to help you more deeply reflect and personalize PRN possibilities for yourself and your team.  More information will be available in the first session.
