This course will cover the healthcare provincial landscape with a focus on how hospitals in Ontario are funded.  Funding will be discussed from a historical perspective, including the recent Health System Funding Reform (HSFR) changes.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what Health System Funding Reform (HSFR) is

  • Describe how the Health Based Allocation Formula (HBAM) works

  • Define Quality Based Procedures (QBPs) and their significance

  • Explain the non modelled components of healthcare funding
